What Happened?

There are four more photos of corpses that the anthropologists have dug out of the ice... four more blank stares from out of the grave. In reverent silence you roll them all back up.

"Now look at this." Claudia unrolls a grave site diagram that was also in the tube. "My great-great-great-grandfather's expedition camped on the ice for a time. And these five people died. I wonder why?"

"Froze to death." You snap your fingers. "Mystery solved."

She gives you a look. "If we could suss out what killed them, it might tell us what happened to the rest... to my family." She turns to the stacks of crates. "Perhaps the answer is in here somewhere."

"Try the top one, next stack over," a new voice booms out.
