Introduction:
If you have not yet been exposed to science standards where you teach, look behind you, because theyre coming. The National Research Council (NRC) released its National Science Standards in 1996. Since the education of its population is a right granted to each state by the United States Constitution, some states already had their own standards in place 1996 (and were not about to change). Many other states have followed NRC and generated standards of their own since 1996.
