First job out of college was as a dishwasher in Linus Pauling's lab. As an undergraduate sat on university committee on Research with Paul Berg, who kept reminding me that I didn't know anything about science. Became a science teacher and have spent several years trying to prove him wrong, but now I'm not so sure after all.
