I am a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Recovery Process Development at Genentech, Inc. My formal undergraduate education includes an Associate degree from City College of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University. I completed graduate work with a Masters of Science in Biochemistry from Long Beach State University in California.

I currently use my biochemistry skills to design and implement steps for large scale recovery of recombinant proteins. I also take the opportunity to bring my skills into the classroom. I have worked with students from kindergarten to high school, giving workshops on chromatography and other areas of biotechnology.

When I am not at Genentech, Inc., I am raising a family (Brian is 10 years old, and Allison is 6) which leads to opportunities such as being a Cub Scout Den leader. Also, I enjoy reading and writing science fiction, computer games and rebuilding and restoring old cars.
