Aeroallergen Research with Dr. Kira Geraci
Guest Speaker: Dr. Kira Geraci
Dr. Kira Geraci is a board certified pediatrician and allergist
and has been practicing medicine since 1980. She graduated with
honors from Adelphi University in Long Island, New York and Columbia
University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her hospital appointments
include: The New York Hospital, United Hospital, Westchester County
Medical Center, St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains Hospital and
Sound Shore Hospital Medical Center. These are all located in
the New York metropolitan area.
Dr. Geraci holds academic appointments at Cornell University Medical
College and New York Medical College. She has been active in a
number of professional societies including: the American Academy
of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy
and Immunology, and the American Lung Association.
Since 1990 she has served as the Physician-Director of the Westchester
County Aeroallergen Station, an affiliate of the National Aeroallergen
Network of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Geraci's publications include: "The effect of Ribavirin Therapy
on Respiratory Syncytial Virus-Specific IgE and IgA Responses
Following Infection." and "Asthma Management." She has also carried
out research involving intracellular iron metabolism in human
leukemic white cells and was involved with an evaluation of IgE-RSV
secretory immune response in infants treated with Ribavirin aerosol.
Kira gives many lectures related to allergy and asthma.
