Procedure - Prepare the Computer
- If you have Biology with Computers, open "EXP12.LXP"
from the experiment files of Data Logger. Load the calibration
file "EXP12.CLB". The vertical axis has pressure scaled
from 0.90-1.00 atm. The horizontal axis has time scaled from 0-20
min. That's it! The computer should be ready to collect data.
Make an Experiment File:
If you do not have Biology with Computers,
set the Data Logger program as follows:
From the Display menu:
- Choose One Graph
- Choose Timebase. Click on Minutes.
From the Collect menu:
- Choose Data Rate from the Collect menu. Enter 12 points/minute.
The data rate is set to 12 points/minute.
- Turn the Event Mode off, if necessary. Examine Event Mode
from the Collect menu. If it is checked, choose it to deselect
the menu item.
- Load the calibration for the pressure sensor from the Data
Logger Experimenter Files:
- Choose Calibrate from the Collect menu.
- Choose Load Calibration and select the appropriate file. Load
it into Port 1.
- Turn the Display Inputs on, if necessary. Examine the Display
Inputs menu item. If it is not checked, choose it to select it.
Alter the plot axes:
- The vertical axis has pressure scaled from 0.9 to 1.0 atmospheres.
To change the plot labels:
- Double click the mouse when the cursor is over the lowest
value displayed on the vertical axis of the plot. When
the value is highlighted, type "0.9".
- Double click the mouse over the highest value
displayed on the vertical axis of the plot. When the value is
highlighted, type "1".
- The horizontal axis has time scaled from 0 to 20 minutes.
To change the plot labels:
- Double click the mouse when the cursor is over the lowest
value displayed on the horizontal axis of the plot. When
the value is highlighted, type "0".
- Double click the mouse over the highest value
displayed on the horizontal axis of the plot. When the value is
highlighted, type "20".
