Achiote Fruit.  Achiote, or annatto, is often cultivated as a source of a reddish dye derived from the seeds. The dye is used as a body paint and to color cloth and fibers. Note the distinctive drip tips on the leaves. These are typical of many rainforest plants and help to shed water from the leaf surface.
